DAPHNE DAY-HANDKAMMER

The work may take on the form of painting, collage, drawing or photography. My practice generally centres on isolated landscapes, often abandoned industrial sites that with time change irrevocably either by the evolution of nature or human intervention. Referencing art history and the amalgamation of sourced imagery from films, documentaries and the media, I reinterpret and retranslate these changing landscapes, which invariably have uncanny undertones. My practice allows me to explore notions of the real and the unreal. |
